The Kapda Project addresses one of these essentials by redirecting garments with a wearable lifespan away from landfills to vulnerable communities in India, where over 38 million people live below the poverty line. Our Mission with Kapda Project Most NGOs struggle with large volumes of donations, which have higher volume of items that are not useable and adds to their "waste". The Kapda Project bridges this gap by ensuring the garment reach the right benefactors and any surplus is not incinerated or dumped in landfills. Did you know that while 38% of households donate clothes to NGOs or service helpers, only 10% of recipients actually benefit? With the Kapda Project, we are solving two salient social problems: reducing textile waste and supporting a decent standard of living for underserved communities. As a truly ethical thrift store, the products we receive from donations are often vintage or from previous collections that are no longer available in-store or are from brands that are no longer operational. While we love bringing these products to you, it is not easy to find the original sale price. We however estimate the closest sale price taking into consideration: the brand, their average prices for products in particular categories etc. We encourage you to do your own research for this as well. Any listed estimated original sale price is just that, an estimate. It can happen to the best of us. However, as an early-stage start-up, we have a strict cancellation policy to ensure our business continuity. You can cancel any order placed within 24 hours of receiving order confirmation. If you cancel an order within 24 hours, you will receive the entire amount of cashback. Defects and Repairs Disclaimer Some of the clothes we list have minor defects which are either disclosed at listing or repaired prior to listing. The repairs are discreet and done by local tailors and craftswomen. While we work hard to ensure quality in delivery, please allow for some margin of human error (1 in 100 pieces). The price of the clothes listed thoroughly considers any repairs made, and more often than not, you’ll find that the items for sale which have minor defects or are repaired are cheaper. Please be mindful that disclosed defects and repairs will not be acceptable reasons for return. Condition of Fabric Disclaimer For every item listed, we estimate and calculate the number of wears the fabric has left based on the quality of the fabric, brand, condition received, etc. When we list a product as Brand New, it means it arrived at our facility with its tag intact. The original brand tags are however removed prior to cleaning and treatments. Rarely worn clothes show very few signs of use and wear, and will last you a long time. Pre-loved items have been cherished by a previous owner, and they have been through rigorous quality checks before being listed for essentials in your closet. We aim to work completely transparently. Please be mindful that disclosed condition of the fabric, whether Brand New, Rarely Worn or Pre-loved will not be acceptable reasons for return. Redeeming Store Credit or Discount Vouchers Store credits are issued to customers who have membership log-in at EcoDhaga. Store credits may be issued on cancellation of an order or return of an item. If you’re part of our members’ mailing list, you may also be privy to exclusive discount vouchers. As a Thrift Exclusive experience, you get to book a 2-hour slot for a customised shopping experience at a secret location (emailed and WhatsApp-ed to you after you book) in Koramangala, Bangalore. Your slot is booked for a duration of 2 hours. To allow us to serve every customer, we request you to kindly be on time. No hidden charges for the exclusive shopping experience. Only pay for what you buy! No returns or exchanges for items bought in store. Cancellation: Please cancel or reschedule your ThriftEx appointment 48 hours before your slot or earlier. A lot of time, love, and care goes into creating your customised ThriftEx experience, which is why we charge a nominal fee of INR 149 if you fail to cancel your appointment in time. Decluttering Policy For Decluttering Offsite, the Service Fee is calculated according to the distance from our Circular Fashion Experience Centre and expected volumes. The fees levied includes collection logistics and labour for segregation and sorting of the items received. Please note, we are not "waste" collectors, and therefore if you fail to follow our decluttering guidelines, a small charge for the treatment and processing of those garments may be levied on you (calculable per kg) in addition to the collection fees. Please note, for the collections, we have partnered with a logistics agency and do not conduct these independently. For high rise and apartment residents, they maybe asked to drop them off on the ground floor. By participating in EcoDhaga's declutter sessions, you agree to the utilisation of donated items for business viability and sustainable disposal. Donations may cover operational costs and be sold, online or offline, for cost recovery. Products maybe even be altered, repaired, repurposed, upcycled or recycled as would be considered most appropriate and feasible. All proceeds earned will be reinvested in eco-friendly initiatives. This disclaimer is a binding part of the terms and conditions agreed upon by signing and submitting the form. Shipping Charges Flat rate of INR 150 for orders will be applicable. For orders, above INR 3000, we provide free shipping! Watch out for our sale seasons when we offer free shipping! Applicable GST GST of 5% is applicable for all items under INR 1000. GST of 12% is applicable for all items over INR 1000. Upcycled Home Products attract a GST of 5%, and Upcycled Fashion Range attract a GST of 28% according to the GST Norms in India. HOME RANGE STITCHED IN TIME ReCKED Our experiment with upcycling post-consumer textiles into utility based quirky products started with our humble home range which includes tableware to kitchen essentials. Our small batch produced upcycled home range has been so loved by our customers, it has been encouraging to see conscious consumers proudly partake in sustainable alternatives and products that we are creating with a passion and vision.
